AzTech: Empiric Empire Standards

AzTech: Empiric Empire focuses on standard typically taught in grades four through six. However, we know that students progress through the standards at differing rates. The game is often used in grade seven as a review for the entire class or for individual students who require more time to master a given standard.

Standards assessed by Grade

———————————— FOURTH GRADE STANDARDS ———————————————
CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.4.NBT.B.6 – Find whole-number quotients and remainders with up to four-digit dividends and one-digit divisors.
CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.4.NF.A.2 Compare two fractions with different numerators and different denominators. Record the results of comparisons with symbols >, =, or <, and justify the conclusions, e.g., by using a visual fraction model.
———————————— FIFTH GRADE STANDARDS ———————————————–
CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.5.NBT.B.7 Add, subtract, multiply, and divide decimals to hundredths
CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.5.NF.A.2 Solve word problems involving addition and subtraction of fractions referring to the same whole.
CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.5.NF.A.1 Add and subtract fractions with unlike denominators (including mixed numbers) by replacing given fractions with equivalent fractions.
—————————— SIXTH GRADE STANDARDS —————————————————–
CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.L.6.6 Acquire and use accurately grade-appropriate general academic and domain-specific words and phrases; gather vocabulary knowledge when considering a word or phrase important to comprehension or expression.
CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.6.SP.A.3 Recognize that a measure of center for a numerical data set summarizes all of its values with a single number, while a measure of variation describes how its values vary with a single number.
