Making Camp Lakota (7 Generation Games)
Making Camp Lakota is the first fully bilingual, cross-curricular video game in English/Lakota. The language of instruction is controlled by the player on every screen within the game, including text, audio and video content. It can be played in English, Lakota or flipping between the two. Developed in collaboration with Thunder Valley Community Development Corporation on the Pine Ridge Reservation, Making Camp Lakota integrates math, Lakota culture and Lakota language into a video game for Grades 3-6.
The format of Making Camp Lakota will serve as a template for “You Are Here” for web, Android and iOS. YAH will also draw from MC Lakota’s technology base, including the bilingual functionally, “items earned” and the ability to play offline.

Fish Lake (The Julia Group)
Fish Lake was developed with Small Business Innovation and Research funding from the U.S. Department of Agriculture awarded to The Julia Group to create culturally reflective educational software aimed at closing the math gap in U.S. tribal communities.
Fish Lake integrates mathematics education and traditional Ojibwe cultural history, based on the Ojibwe migration. This game uses authentic portrayals of Indigenous communities, developed directly with tribal input, to create an engaging educational video game. Fish Lake includes multiple 3D Unity games as well as video assets and mini-games that can be directly included in or easily adapted for use in “You Are Here.”
A Mac or Windows installation link for Fish Lake can be accessed below. Fish Lake is also available for iPad including a free “lite” version.
