A Christmas Letter from 7 Generation Games

The children are heading back to school, you’re thinking about putting away the decorations, swearing you really will send out Christmas cards next year. To finish off the season, here is our annual holiday letter, sent when we all have a moment to get a cup of coffee and catch up.

We would like to take a moment to thank you for all of your support throughout our journey the past 2 years. It seems like only yesterday that Erich Longie, our lead cultural consultant, and I were meeting to discuss how we might create an educational video game that incorporates both math and Native American history. Today, our first game, Spirit Lake, is being played in 36 different states, our second game Fish Lake will be released in a few weeks, and our third game is already in development and slated for release in the fall of 2015.

I am truly honored by how many people have backed us since the very beginning of starting this company and have shared in our vision to help build a better world through technology. We could not have succeeded without all of your support and I can’t tell you enough how much this means to all of us at 7 Generation Games.

If you haven’t looked at Spirit Lake: The Game since our Kickstarter days, we guarantee that you will be blown away. Students explore the virtual world, find medicine to save their tribe, escape from rabid wolves and go on a buffalo hunt. Mathematics focus on multiplication and division, with a bit of geometry and probability. Click here to download the latest version and include coupon code “gratefuljan” to receive 25% off.

Spirit Lake Improvements Include:

  • Added a new 3D first level to teach game play
  • Improved game graphics throughout the game
  • More videos for learning math
  • If you don’t want to shoot deer in the intro level you can just avoid them (yes, our vegetarian players asked for that option)
  • Audio has been improved in the teaching videos
  • ‘Read it to me’ option has been added for many of the web pages teaching problem solving
  • Added optional mini-games at the beginning

Throughout the last year, we devoted our time to improving our existing games and focused on developing new games that make people smarter. We had a fantastic year and are grateful to have met so many wonderful people along the way. Here’s to an even better year in 2015!
