Happy Friday the 13th! Since it’s Friday, you know what that means. It’s time for another Freebie Friday. Today’s freebie is from our game Making Camp. It is a culture video on the Marten Clan. This video teaches you about how Ojibwe tribes were made up of clans, or families, and how that structured the community. The video also specifically talks about one of those clans, the Marten Clan. You can view the Marten Clan video below.
For those teachers that are teaching bilingual kids, you can also view this video in Spanish. The video is called “El Clan de la Marta” and it’s in our game Making Camp Bilingual.
You can find the resource above on our Making Camp Teacher Resources page. We provide resources such as historical photos, vetted links, activities, videos, and powerpoint presentations on our Teacher Resources page in order to supplement the content in our games even when you are not playing them. It’s important to us to provide educational resources, like the one above, because it’s most often the case that Native American educational resources don’t exist or don’t depict the community accurately. Feel free to browse the resources that we have on our teacher resources page and use them in your classroom, at home, or any other educational need you may have.
Have a spooky Friday the 13th and a great weekend! Make sure to come back next week for another Freebie Friday.
